Jan Gilbertson

Centre Research Manager

Jan Gilbertson is the Research Manager for the Centre with responsibility for supporting academic priorities, ensuring progress across workstreams, overseeing the delivery of outputs, supporting funder feedback and contributing to the management of staff time and resources. 

Jan is also a Senior Research Fellow in the Centre for Regional Economic and Social Research (CRESR) at Sheffield Hallam University with over 25 years’ experience in project and programme management and evaluation. She has managed numerous evaluative studies, successfully delivering research for a wide range of clients including Government departments, local authorities, the NHS, the ESRC, and third sector organisations including the Centre for Ageing Better and Age UK. Jan has a broad interest in C4 research themes, in particular the contribution and impact of community organisations in supporting health and wellbeing outcomes and local and national policy priorities in health and social care.   She is interested in how community based activity and support can facilitate healthy ageing and ageing in place and contribute to increasing independence and prevention.
