Deputy Director & Lead on What Works Evidence
Ian is a Deputy Director for the Centre and part of both the management and leadership team. Ian leads on IU1, the ‘What Works’ implementation unit.
With IU1 colleagues, Ian currently focuses on engaging stakeholders and developing our infrastructure and frameworks ,which will underpin the evidence reviews and synthesis produced by the Centre.
Ian is also the Director of CRESR and a Professor of Policy Research and Evaluation at Sheffield Hallam University. He has 20 years’ experience in undertaking applied policy research and evaluation of housing, regeneration and welfare initiatives. Ian has been awarded over £15 million of income by a range of commissioning bodies including MHCLG, DWP, the Centre for Ageing Better and the ESRC, and has authored over 100 research reports and other publications.
