Photo Credit: Airam Dato-on on Pexels.As part of our ongoing partnership with The Young Foundation, we’re setting up a Critical Friend Panel, and are now recruiting up to ten people from across the UK to join!
The Critical Friend Panel is a governance group that will exist to represent and embed community perspectives across our Centre and our work. Panel members will share advice on community priorities, input into and provide feedback on our research activities and act as expert community stakeholders to help us test out our ideas and outputs.
We’re looking for people who:
- are active in their community, in a paid or unpaid capacity.
- care about community involvement in research programmes, and about making research activities and outputs accessible, relevant and useful for community audiences.
- are supportive of the mission of our Centre.
- are able to speak on behalf of a wider community, drawing on multiple views and experiences, rather than sharing a solely personal perspective. This could be a community in a place, or a community of shared interests or experiences.
- have experience of working collaboratively with people from a range of backgrounds; possibly with experience of sitting on a committee or a working group.
- are comfortable participating in online meetings and providing views and feedback via online meetings and email.
- represent diverse perspectives, including those that are currently less represented in C4. This includes people who work closely with young people, and people who are outside of our existing geographical focus areas (Brixton; Belfast; Clackmannanshire; Sheffield and Brecon).
