Alasdair is Professor of Social Statistics at the University of Stirling. His research is mainly applied econometric analysis of survey and administrative data, studying charities, volunteering and participation. An economist by training, Alasdair worked in the third sector before becoming an academic. He currently sits on the boards of third sector organisations including SpeechBubble Drama, Stirling Carers Centre and Socialudo.
