Deputy Director & Lead on Relationships Across the Life Course
Andrea is a Deputy Director for the Centre, and sits on both our Management and Leadership teams.
Andrea also has overall responsibility for the delivery of our Interdisciplinary Research Themes. As IRT Lead, Andrea coordinates activity between the six research theme groups, and guides the efforts to produce outputs and publications.
Andrea is Professor of Applied Social and Policy Research at Sheffield Hallam University, where she is Director of the Centre for Loneliness Studies and Co-director of the Campaign to End Loneliness. She is a leading researcher on loneliness and social isolation, specialising in the wider social determinants and implications through research, programme evaluation, and evidence-based policy and practice. Many aspects of her research focus on co-production involving all key partners in the research process, including ‘experts by experience’.
