Aunam is our Community Embedded Researcher and Research Fellow for the Sheffield Community Catapult. She works closely with colleagues at Darnall Well Being, as well as Sheffield Hallam University to develop strong connections between the two organisations.

Aunam’s interdisciplinary background and research aligns to issues of systemic inequality, anti-racism and participatory action. She has experience of delivering research and evaluation projects across academia, charity and public sector on education and digital society. This includes a post-doctoral post at the University of Glasgow investigating the design of digital public services and wider implications related to the use of ethnicity data, privacy and AI ethics.

Aunam holds a PhD which explored discourses of belonging, identity and community cultural wealth, working with students and teachers as researchers to co-produce History and Geography curricula in primary and secondary schools.
