Community Catapult Coordinator
Gavin Brewis is a Research Fellow and Site Coordinator for Queen’s Communities and Place (QCAP), leading activity across multiple UK sites for the Centre for Collaboration in Community Connectedness (C4). His research examines the intersections of culture, community, systemic violence, and psychosocial forms of trauma, with a particular focus on the working-class lives of young people, and place-based inequality. Gavin’s work explores how communities experience and respond to structural harm and territorial stigmatisation. He has delivered invited talks and international keynotes across academic institutions and for the Scottish Government, contributing to debates on inequality, youth culture, and social justice. Gavin is also a member of the Scottish Poverty and Inequality Research Unit and an Associate Member of the Scottish Centre for Crime and Justice Research.
