Deputy Director & Researcher Development Lead
Jon is a a Deputy Director of the Centre, as well as lead for Workstream 3, leading on our People and Capacity Building programme. Jon also co-leads Implementation Unit 2: Data and Methods, focusing on community participation, and leads our reading group, which is a great opportunity for our colleagues to get together and share their thoughts on contemporary and historical writings around community connectedness.
Jon is an Associate Professor of Politics and Sociology at Sheffield Hallam University, and the author of several books on charity and research methods. His research focuses on inequalities within the voluntary sector. Jon is a former Chair of the Voluntary Sector Studies Network and currently Director of Advanced Qualitative Methods for the White Rose Doctoral Training Partnership.
